The growing desire among the Welsh to more acquaintances with the English language is one of the hopeful signs of the times. For every one of our fellow nations who understood English at the beginning of this century, it is probable that he said that twenties if hundreds do not understand it now. From the other side, more than the English visit to our country during the summer months make a small effort to learn Welsh.
But it is clear that no one can master foreign language without the help of dictionaries. It is not possible to say that the different dictionaries now on the field are practical because they have thousands of words that have never been used, and it may never be used; and that, of course, magnifies the work, until it is out of reach of the low -grade passage. This is a cheap practical dictionary for the multitude they can't train for more ones.
But although many of the obsolete words have been left out, yet it contains every word in common practice in speaking and writing.
Great care was taken in the reading of the leaflets, as it is trusted that it does not have a single error worth identifying.
